37 VTB League representatives in national qualifying games

Qualifying games of 2022 continental cups (also serve as pre-qualification for the 2023 World Cup) will be held on November 26-30. 34 players and 3 coaches will represent VTB United League in their national teams.

Respecting the pandemic situation and in order to ensure health and safety of athletes, coaches and officials, FIBA decided to hold such games in bubbles – isolated zones.

2022 Eurocup Qualifiers

Russian national team preliminary roster features 9 League players: Evgeny Baburin, Ivan Strebkov (both from Nizhny Novgorod), Grigory Motovilov, Stanislav Ilnitskiy (both from Lokomotiv-Kuban), Maksim Grigoryev, Vladimir Ivlev (both from PARMA), Mikhail Kulagin (Enisey), Vladislav Trushkin (Zenit), Pavel Antipov (UNICS) and Andrey Lopatin (CSKA). Russia will face Estonia (Nov 28) and Italy (Nov 30) in Tallinn’s bubble.

Estonian national team, Russia’s opponent in the group have summoned 4 Kalev players: Martin Dorbek, Tanel Kurbas, Kregor Hermet and Rauno Nurger. Estonia will play Russia (Nov 28) and Macedonia (Nov 30).

Latvia have 5 players from United League: Mareks Mejeris (PARMA), Martins Meiers (Astana), Rolands Freimanis, Janis Berzins (both from Zielona Gora), Klavs Cavars (Tsmoki-Minsk), and the head coach Roberts Stelmahers (Kalev). Latvia will meet Greece (Nov 27) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (Nov 29) in Sarajevo.

Lukasz Koszarek (Zielona Gora) will help Poland against Romania (Nov 28) and Israel (Nov 28) in Valencia.

Lithuania will have Mindaugas Kuzminskas and Mantas Kalnietis (both from Lokomotiv-Kuban) to play Denmark (Nov 27) and Belgium (Nov 29).

At the same time, Iffe Lundberg (Zielona Gora) will help Denmark against Lithuania (Nov 27) and Czech Republic (Nov 29) in Vilnius.

Georgian roster features Tornike Shengelia (CSKA) to face Finland (Nov 28) and Switzerland (Nov 30) in Espoo.

Croatia called Zelko Sakic (Avtodor) to meet Turkey (Nov 27) and Sweden (Nov 29) in Istanbul.

Another United League player is Jordan Morgan (UNICS) who will play for Slovenia against Ukraine (Nov 28) and Hungary (Nov 30) in Ljubljana.

European pre-qualification for 2023 World Cup

Belarus will come to Portugal to play against Albania (Nov 26) and Cyprus (Nov 26). They have 9 United League representatives: Yauheni Beliankou, Maksim Salash, Aliaksei Trastsinetski, Andrei Stabrouski, Uladzimir Verameyenka, Aliaksandr Pustahvar, Pavel Benjamin-Doodoo, Andrei Rahozenka and the head coach Rostislav Vergun (all from Tsmoki-Minsk).

Sloavkia national head coach Zan Tabak (Zielona Gora) will lead his side against Kosovo (Nov 26) and Luxembourg (Nov 28) in Bratislava.

2022 America Cup Qualifiers

GIan Clavell (Avtodor) within roster of Puerto Rico will go to Indianapolis to play against Mexico (Nov 29) and The Bahamas (Nov 30).
