Story
VEF seized control of a tight game in the 3rd quarter, shutting down PARMA’s offense to pick up a 19-point lead. The visitors cut the deficit to six late in the final period, but weren’t able to complete the comeback, with the Latvians enjoying a double-digit win at home.

VEF has now won five of its last seven and edges into 8th place, ahead of PARMA, Tsmoki and Nizhny Novgorod on winning percentage. PARMA misses an opportunity to create some separation in the playoff chase, dropping to 5-11 on the season.

Alex Perez led the way for the home team, nearly recording a triple-double with 21 points, nine rebounds, seven assists. His all-around performance was reflective of VEF’s dominance in the contest. The Latvians obliterated PARMA on the glass, 51-29, including a 19-9 edge in offensive rebounds. VEF also dished out 21 assists as a team.

PARMA got 22 points from Codi Miller-McIntyre and only committed seven turnovers as a team, but 37% field-goal shooting and a measly 12 free-throw attempts was too much to overcome. The Siberian club has lost four of five to drop back into the thick of the postseason chase.
