Three Days At #SIBURCAMP: New Uniforms, Trip To The Finals And Meeting The Stars

It's been an amazing start to

, which brings together 21 of Russia's most talented youngsters. The project is organized by the VTB United League and SIBUR with the support of the Russian Basketball Federation.

More than a week remains in the camp, but the boys have already seen and experienced an incredible amount.

Camp opened on June 2 and the #SIBURCAMP team was ready. The kids got new uniforms, along with sneakers, from Adidas, while the gym had the final touches put on. You had to see the looks on their faces when they saw their new professional uniforms.

Participants began showing up around lunchtime and had time for a light practice in the evening. The coaches scheduled another workout for Friday morning, before giving the boys time to get ready for a trip to the VTB United League finals.

A bus came right at 5:45 pm, transporting the camp to the USH CSKA for Game 2 of the CSKA - UNICS VTB United League finals. Face-paint artists in the lobby of the arena painted each boy's face in leopard paint to prepare them for an important job during the game.

The #SIBURCAMP team got to take the court with Buba the Leopard, as well as snap pictures with CSKA's Euroleague trophy, currently on exhibit on the arena concourse.

The kids ran out on the court with Buba during the 1st timeout in the 2nd quarter, tossing t-shirts into the crowd. Who knows, maybe someday one of these boys will be huddled around his coach during a timeout at a VTB United League game.

The guys didn't want to leave after the final whistle. After all, they were going to meet their idols! While CSKA and UNICS spoke with the media, the boys had a chance to take pictures with Russian national team coach Sergei Bazarevich and CSKA and Soviet national team legend Sergei Tarakanov.

Once the players emerged from the locker room, they were very friendly and made sure no one missed out on an autograph. After meeting the players, the #SIBURCAMP group hopped on the bus for the drive back to camp. Another practice awaited in the morning.

Saturday was busy. Inspired by the previous night's excitement, the players were extra focused and energized. Plus, they have plenty more to look forward to in the coming week!

SIBUR and the VTB United League, with the support of the Russian Basketball Federation, are hosting a unique basketball camp for young athletes. 21 talented youngsters (no older than 14) from seven Russian cities traveled to Moscow to train with Russia's top coaches using the newest methods. The project's primary goal is to demonstrate the important role of sports in helping a child grow and mature. The project is a part of SIBUR's School of Basketball program, which unites the company's various basketball-related initiatives.
