Spartak in Minsk: result without leaders

The Russian Spartak beat the Belarusian Minsk-2006 in away match - 88:66.

Spartak arrived in the capital of Belarus without main leaders: Patrick Beverley, Yotam Halperin, and Loukas Mavrokefalidis and Viktor Keyru. However the «red-white» managed to demonstrate a high-class basketball: Minsk-2006 lost tournament motivation, but Spartak, on the contrary, continue to struggle for first place in the group with CSKA Moscow. The meeting between these two rivals will be held next Saturday, February 25 in Moscow, and the winner probably will get directly to the Final Four.

In general, the victory was much more important for the visitors- and they won it relatively easy. By the middle of the first quarter St. Petersburg team had a clear advantage - 9:17, Alexey Kotishevskiy and Miha Zupan scored 12 points by that time. But the major assistance in this meeting, Spartak got from the bench. Vladimir Dragicevic dominated under the basket - 10 shots out of 11 plus 7 rebounds! Vasily Zavoruev was also quite effective (4 three-pointers of 5, plus 3 shots from the average distance of 4)

In the end of the game Andrei Krivonos players reduced the backlog and managed to avoid crushing defeat, but made a few turnovers during the last minute.

The result of the match - 88:66 in favor of Spartak. In Minsk-2006 Aliaksei Trastsinetsk finished match with 15points while Justin Knox had 14 and 10 rebounds, and the best snipers in Spartak were Dragicevic (21), Zavoruev (18) and Zupan (16).
