Avtodor Saratov has signed American-Azerbaijani forward Shaquielle McKissic (196 cm, 27 years old) for the rest of the season. He’s able to play at both the shooting guard and small forward position.
McKissic started the season with Gran Canaria in the Spanish league, but left the club due to a conflict with the head coach. In nine games in the Spanish league, McKissic averaged 5.4 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.0 steals in 18 minutes. He also played in six EuroCup games, averaging 7.2 points, 1.7 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 0.5 steals in 14.4 minutes.
McKissic has also played for Turkey’s Usak Sportif (2016-17), South Korea’s Changwon Sakers (2015-16) and Italy’s Pesaro.
He was selected to the 2017 Turkish league All-Star Game.
– I can’t wait to play for coach Pashutin and to meet my new teammates and Avtodor’s wonderful fans.
– McKissic is a very nice acquisition. We’re confident the team will take a serious step forward with his arrival. McKissic is built for up-tempo basketball. We hope to get production, speed and excitement out of him.
Avtodor head coach:
– McKissic is aggressive on the glass, can shoot from outside, transitions quickly from defense to offense and fits our philosophy of fast-paced play. He’ll give us more power, speed, athleticism and aggressiveness. I’m confident we’ll become even better with McKissic.
