New Court Opens In Karelia, Built With League Support

Residents of Chalna, Karelia celebrated the opening of a new basketball court on August 2, rebuilt with the support of the VTB United League. Located at a school, the court received a modern surface, new backboards and hoops, as well as league-standard court markings.

Deputy secretary of the Russian Federation's Security Council Rashid Nurgaliyev attended the grand opening: "There are already a lot of children and adults here today that want to play basketball," noted Nurgaliev. "I'm confident the new court will be in high demand from residents. I want to say a huge thank-you to the VTB United League and president Sergey Kushchenko, who responded to our joint request. Now residents of Chalna will have an excellent opportunity to play basketball in modern conditions.

The school also received a supply of practice equipment, including baskeballs, uniforms for two teams, practice cones and agility ladders.
