Moscow Basketball Schools To Conduct Environmental Experiment

Four Moscow Basketball Academy schools (Trinta, Timiryazevskaya, №56 and Gloria) have joined the VTB United League’s Basketbottle environmental initiative. The goal of the environmental experiment is to find out how much consumer plastic each school can recycle. Results will be tallied on International Recycling Day (November 15).

Basketbottle recycling bins have been distributed to each of the schools and students and visitors will be educated on responsible recycling methods. The collected plastic will be recycled by Ecotechnology.

Basketbottle is an environmental initiative of the VTB United League, which was launched in 2017 as part of the “Year of Ecology in Russia” with the support of the Russian Federation Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and SIBUR. VTB United League clubs recycled more than four tons of plastic during the 2017-18 season. In addition to the Moscow Basketball Academy sports schools, all of the MBA’s professional teams will also participate.
