The famed Eifman Ballet will perform at the All-Star Game in St. Petersburg.
Boris Eifman is one of the world’s leading choreographers, renowned for inventing the modern Russian ballet repertoire, which blends psychology, deep drama and unbelievable emotion.
On February 17 in the Yubileyny Sports Palace, the Eifman Ballet will prove that a creative union between dance and basketball can produce thrilling results.
League general director Ilona Korstin:
– The Eifman Ballet is famous around the world. These performers are stars and we’re very happy they will be part of our show in Russia’s cultural capital, St. Petersburg.
Both basketball and ballet are an art and depend upon the purity of technical execution, physical preparation and focus. As in basketball, leaping and jumping are an irreplaceable element of ballet as entertainment. As you can see, basketball and ballet have a lot in common.
I’m confident that the Eifman Ballet’s performance on the Yubileyny Sports Palace court will demonstrate that a creative union between dance and sports can result in pure excitement.
