Anton Ponkrashov To Compete In Three-Point Contest

UNICS guard Anton Ponkrashov will compete in the Three-Point Contest, which will take place during the All-Star Game in St. Petersburg on February 17.

Ponkrashov is shooting a career-high 43.9% from beyond the arc this season and ranks in the Top 5 in the League.

The Russian replaces Kyle Kuric of Zenit, who will miss the All-Star Game due to family circumstances.

– I’m very happy the League gave me an invite to the Three-Point Contest. I grew up in St. Petersburg and this is where my pro career began. This is a big challenge: I’ll try to win for my hometown and the basketball fans in St. Petersburg. I want to show what I can do!

The following players will compete in the Three-Point Contest: Sergio Rodriguez (CSKA), Ryan Broekhoff (Lokomotiv-Kuban), Aliaksandr Kudrautsau (Tsmoki-Minsk), Branko Mirkovic (Kalev), Kristaps Janicenoks (VEF) and Anton Ponkrashov (UNICS).
