Budivelnik want to get to the play-offs too!
The Ukrainian Budivelnik gained a sensational away victory over the Russian Khimki - 94:90 and will struggle for play-offs.
Budevelnik overcame a poor start before imposing their quality. At the beginning of the match, Khimki players, wishing to be rehabilitated before the native tribunes for their recent defeat from another Ukrainian club - Donetsk in the European Cup, started to play very effectively. They achieved a double-digit advantage by the end of the first quarter. Egor Vialtsev (12 points) demonstrated efficient actions and helped his team a lot. But the Ukrainian champion managed to change the situation and shot the ball in along with the siren «-7».
In the second period Budevelnik decided not to reduce speed and thanks to productive actions by Jack McClinton (11 points successively) they reduced the backlog to «- 2».
At the 39th minute the Ukrainian forward Mikhailo Anisimov leveled the score - 85:85. 40 seconds later Anisimov scored with a foul and Budivelnik took the lead - 88:85. Fridzon failed to score three-pointer in attack, and visitors didn’t miss their «tactical» fouls.
The final score - 90:84. Budivelnik gained the fourth victory in the championship and still has the chance to reach the play-offs (if the team wins the next match in Samara it can climb to the 6th place in the group). As for Khimki, after the defeat it became more complicated to take the first place in the group and to get to the Final four of the League ahead of time.
In Khimki Vialtsev finished with 20 points while two Croats - Kresimir Loncar and Zoran Planinic scored 15 points each. In Budivelnik the most productive became Jack McClinton (26) and Artsiom Parakhouskis (15).
